I am thrilled to share with you a new adventure I have begun, and it’s all because of our school librarian.  A few weeks ago I was serving my volunteer time in my kiddos library.  This is a precious time of the week that I so enjoy and would not trade. The library was a bit slow so I was shooting the breeze with Mrs.K, the librarian. She asked me what I was doing at home & I told her I had been writing quite a bit. That is when she told me she was a writer and had actually written a book or two.

As you can imagine, I was beside myself to pick her brain. We enjoyed our chat and then I shared my web site with her. A couple of weeks later when I went into the library, Mrs. K showed me a link to a writing job with Examiner.com.

As usual, I some what dismissed it, because I thought, “Yeah right, I am not a writer”. Okay, I know we have gone over this before, but yes, I still have the complex. Well, late one night I crept on to the site and applied to be a writer for the tween area.  I just assumed that since it was past 11pm that surely no one in their right mind would take me serious. Well, I would be wrong.

A few days later I got an email from one of the HR repr. asking for an additional writing sample.  What the what?! Didn’t they see what time I filled out the application? Gulp, okay, here goes. I wrote an additional sample in the light of day and sent it in.  Beyond all reasoning, I was hired! You are now looking at the Austin Parenting Tween Examiner! Yes, sir, e, bob, that’s me!

So, if you could not get enough of me here on my own site you can check me out multiple times a week at my own Examiner page here.

Even if you don’t have a kiddo that is in the tween years yet (fyi, 8-12 years old) please come and take a look. As I always ask, if you like what you read, consider sharing it with three friends. I soooooo need the support and readership to get this thing off the ground.

Thanks everyone!!

Have a great Monday!

Congratulations! Let me know how it goes. I've seen a lot of ads for them and was never sure what it was all about.

Welcome to the Closet! Glad you ventured into the deep, dark recesses... Yeah, I can't say it.

There's nothing deep or dark here. I am all cotton balls, candy canes, unicorns & rainbows.

Wait, I just threw up a little in my mouth. Anyway, welcome!
