Oh No she didn’t just talk about that!

Something about Summer always brings this topic up in my mind. I start thinking about stretch marks. Okay, I said it. Ee gads, I know, who wants to talk about that. But, you know what I’m a hard-hitting writer and I will tackle the tough subjects. Bahahha!

When I was preggos with The Boy, a mere 11 years ago, yikes. Anyhoo, being a new mom and being clueless I don’t think I really took stretch marks seriously. Well boy howdy, I should have. I gained, wait for it, SEVENTY FIVE POUNDS with The Boy. I do not say that as a badge of honor, trust me, it is what it is. So, my tummy had a workout and I had a lot of stretch marks.

Well, fast forward 4 years and The Girl comes along. And guess what, more stretch marks. As my body rebounded I started to really think long and hard about stretch mark removal. Was there anything really out there that would work? Do I lather my tummy with mayonnaise or maybe some olive oil? I am certainly not expecting miracles, but a little tighter midsection would be wonderful. Through all my physical therapy for my back I have been working diligently on my core. It’s getting stronger, it will take time, but it is getting stronger! And I am so jazzed about that!

My Sweet Man & I sometimes have tummy competitions about who can make the most faces with their tummy. Yeah, we have taken the road of self-deprecating humor to get us through this. Ha!

But, really I think I have it hands down. My tummy looks like a beautiful sandy beach. Or perhaps, a gorgeous silk blouse that has sat in the dryer overnight.

So, hopefully I have driven the point home that I really need to do something about these stretch marks.

If you are a Mom did you suffer with the evil stretch marks? If so, did you do anything crazy to try to get rid of them? What worked? We are all here to help each other, and make me look better. So share!

I got them in the weirdest spots on the back of my thighs and alongside my butt cheeks…le sigh.
I’ve heard that (from the commercial) that mederma has a lotion that is supposed to reduce their appearance…and no i don’t work for them. I’m thinking about trying it out. Hey, it’s worth a shot right?

While all those creams and scar therapy items propose to “work”, they are truly “filling” the crevices that are created by the lack of collagen in the stretched skin. When it (the collagen) is stretched and gone, it is never to be replaced permanently. So ladies, shop-buy-hunt to your hearts content for the miracle that is only temporary. Keep in mind that is does work, if but for a moment! Yeah!
